Other Works In Progress...
Here are some paintings I am currently working on. I add the updates weekly for those who would like to follow my progress.
Temptation : In this oil painting, a captivating reimagining of the original acrylic piece, Eve is brought to life with a richness that only oil can provide. The texture and depth of the paint enhance her expression, capturing the moment of temptation in exquisite detail. Her gaze is transfixed on the lustrous, red apple, the surface of which glimmers as though illuminated from within.
This oil rendition deepens the emotional resonance of the narrative, inviting contemplation on themes of desire, innocence, and the complexities of choice. With rich colors and sophisticated brushwork, it serves as a compelling study of human nature's eternal struggle.
Peonies: This oil painting represents my largest work to date, capturing the exquisite beauty of peonies adorned with glistening droplets of dew. The interplay of light and shadow, combined with the rich textures of the petals and leaves, invites viewers to appreciate the delicate intricacies of nature.
While this piece may require a considerable investment of time and effort, the results promise to be profoundly rewarding. The vibrant colors and lifelike details of the peonies are designed to elevate any home or room, enhancing the ambiance and creating a captivating focal point. Creating this masterpiece is a journey, and I am dedicated to ensuring that every brushstroke encapsulates the essence of these stunning flowers.
Catherine Mazzanti: This commission captures the delicate moment of a ballerina preparing for her recital, embodying grace and anticipation. The focus is on the intricate details of her costume, the elegance of her poised posture, and the soft play of light that accentuates her features.
Having recently completed several pieces for my upcoming solo exhibition, I am eager to devote my full attention to this artwork. The vibrant energy of ballet and the serene beauty of the dancer inspire every stroke of my brush. I am excited to bring this vision to life, encapsulating the essence of artistry with each careful detail.
Shirley Holmes: This piece will be featured in my gallery exhibition on May 10th. This delightful oil painting showcases a figure dressed in a charming brown and plaid dress, capturing the true spirit of a detective—complete with a picket magnifying glass that looks like it could solve the universe's greatest mysteries... or at least where she left her sippy cup.
The soft brush strokes and rich color palette harmonize to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, inviting viewers to engage with the character's whimsical pursuit. The delicate interplay of light and shadow accentuates the intricacies of her attire, while the magnifying glass serves as both a tool of investigation and a playful nod to childhood adventure.
In this work, I aim to evoke a sense of nostalgia, blending elements of humor and innocence with the classic archetype of investigation. It reflects not only the playful curiosity inherent in childhood but also a deeper inquiry into the complexities of our daily lives. Join me in celebrating this delightful journey at the exhibition.
Mardi Gras Fun: Lez bon temps rouler! This vibrant series celebrates the exuberance and spirit of life through the lens of older women fully embracing the joy of the season. Adorned with colorful Mardi Gras beads collected from the festivities, these ladies embody a carefree attitude, letting their laughter ring out amidst the playful chaos.
Their vibrant personalities shine revel in the merriment, exuding an aura of fearless self-expression. Each bead I add will tell a story—a memory of playful exchanges and moments of spontaneity, demonstrating that the art of living well only gets better with age.
In this collection, I aim to capture the vivacious spirit of these women, who understand that life is about seizing the moment and creating unforgettable memories. As their laughter fills the air and shines in their eyes, they remind us all that at a certain age, the best way to live is unapologetically and joyfully.
