The Story of a Woman Series

When I painted this piece, I wanted to tell a story of women who changed history by one simple decision. The Story of a Woman Series is rich in symbolism. Everything from the snake with no eyes to the colors used, even the reflection in the eye comes together to tell the story of each woman—past, present, and future. I wanted to give the feel of the 1940’s -1950’s pinup girls combined with that eclectic tattoo style, so I added modern pieces of jewelry or more modern hairstyle, compared to the time of the Woman featured. I really enjoyed painting this piece, and I hope it brings enjoyment to you.
